Fire and Ice Holidays

Happy Holidays to all! It has been quite a year and hope you all got through your exams with high scores and all your present shopping is slowly coming to an end as your home and tree get decked out for the holidays. This might be the last post for the year of 2013 and we will see you next year in 2014. Before we leave, we have a few holiday specials in theaters. The title "Fire and Ice" seems to be the dominant theme for this year's holiday films. So here is a list of some of the blockbuster films that may interest you and your family.

Marvel's Thor 2: Dark World continues the adventure of Thor, Loki, and Jane Foster through Asgard and London facing the threat of dark elves.

Catching Fire is the sequel to The Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta realize that it isn't so easy to leave the games behind especially when they are to enter again in the 75th Quarter Quell in the beginning of a revolution.

Disney's latest animated feature film Frozen tells the story of sisters dealing with not just their opposite personality, but an icy secret that unleashes upon their beloved kingdom of Arendelle.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug continues the story of Bilbo, Thorin, Gandalf, and company in their journey to Erebor to at last defeat the dragon Smaug, while another threat is slowly unveiling.

Disney's other film Saving Mr. Banks is based on a true story on not just the making of Disney's most beloved films Mary Poppins, but the truth behind the character herself.

Catching Fire, Frozen, and The Hobbit tend reflect the fire and ice theme. These are not the only films, but a few highlight ones not to miss out on. So enjoy your holidays with these wonderful films and see you all next year.

It has been announced that the fourth Narnia film will be the Silver Chair produced by the Mark Gordon Company. It appears to be a new company. Further news of the film has yet to come. It is also known that some of the characters may have to be replaced. The Daily Prophet and many hope that the characters of Eustace Scrubb, Aslan, and Caspian will not be the victims of replacement. We would love to welcome back Will Poulter, Liam Neeson, and Ben Barnes back to the big screen together. Three cheers for Narnia!

Robert Galbraith or JK Rowling?

Sometime in April a mystery crime novel called The Cuckoo's Calling has been released under the name Robert Galbraith. However, on Saturday July 13th the secret slipped and revealed that Robert Galbraith the author doesn't exist. The true author of this novel is none other than J.K. Rowling herself. This news was not meant to be revealed until much later and it wasn't on Rowling's request. The news slipped from someone Rowling believed she could trust. Due to this unfortunate incident bookstores have sold out. 300,000 more copies are to be reprinted, but this time with Rowling's bio in the back. If Rowling had her way, the bookstores would already be stocked with the prepared number so the selling out could be avoided. Barnes and Nobles will be re-releasing the copies in four weeks and on Rowling's request have held the Casual Vacancy till the 23rd of July. The covers are shown below with UK version first and US version second.

Sometime in mid-June Chamber of Secrets new cover had been released. Now in this week the next three covers were released announcing that the remaining covers will be released in August. Here are the five books in order. Order of the Phoenix cover is a bit small, but the prophet will show a bigger picture of it when it is available.

Fourth Book Cover for Heroes of Olympus

On May 31st, Rick Riordan revealed the cover of the fourth installment of his Heroes of Olympus series. The fourth book titled The House of Hades, will be released on Ocotober 4th 2013. The book will continue the heroic adventure of the seven demigods: Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Hazel Levesque, Leo Valdez, and Frank Zhang.

This book will be from the point of view (POV) of the Roman demigods Jason, Hazel, and Frank, but Riordan mentioned that Percy and Annabeth's journey through Tartarus will also be told and the book cover also claims this to be true. So many believe the fourth POV will be Annabeth due to ensuring that each hero has gotten two books with a POV.

The cover is here for you to make your opinion and judgement what awaits in The House of Hades:
